Older ONS series: Ultra low sulphur diesel, per litre (Derv prior to Feb 2000) (ended January 2025)
Before the shopping prices tool, ONS published a separate average price for diesel as part of the RPI. That series ran from January 1977 to January 2025 and is no longer updated. It measured a slightly different item ("Ultra low sulphur diesel, per litre (Derv prior to Feb 2000)"), was published in pence and was collected differently, so it is shown separately and should not be joined to the new figures above.
17p in January 1977; 143p in January 2025, when the series ended.
